Introduction

This landing page showcases my freelance work as a 3D designer for interactive product visualization and configurators, combining both web and 3D design. It uses storytelling to guide visitors through the benefits and impact of implementing 3D product visualization in their business.

Project overview

Challenge

When I started my own freelance business, I needed a brand and a digital presence to attract and convince prospects of my interactive 3D product visualization services.

The design process

Before starting any design work, I first needed a clear picture of my target audience, their needs, and their goals. So I interviewed potential clients to create my persona. Once I had a clear persona in mind, I started the branding process for my business, including the name, fonts, and colors, and created a style guide that helped me stay consistent and aligned with my positioning.

In terms of the name, I wanted to give it some personality. Since I enjoy the outdoors and live close to the Alps, I wanted to reflect that – and came up with the name PeakVisuals. On one hand, peak refers to the mountains, on the other hand it symbolizes how 3D brings product visualization on another level – away from the valley of 2D images and videos to the peak – 3D and AR. So PeakVisuals means the Peak of Visualization – positioning my service as the highest-level option to visualize products.

The final logo is a symbiosis of the letters P and V, forming a pinhead-like shape that can also be seen as an upside-down mountain peak.

Since the website is meant to attract prospects for interactive 3D visualization, it had to provide a sample they could explore and experience on their own.

I added some realistic textures, hotspots to trigger animations, and a minimalistic interface to display the scooter's measurements and change its color. That way, prospects get a peek of what's possible with interactive 3D.

With the 3D visualization finished, I could start creating my landing page. I started with some basic wireframes to sketch out the flow of the story I want to tell – from the initial problem to the solution and its business impacts.

Following my style guide, I created a modern, tech-savvy page that is responsive and provides prospects with all the information they need upfront.

Outcome & learnings

I received a lot of compliments from prospects for both my web design and my 3D model. Because it covers all the necessary information in a very compact form on a single page, it can easily be consumed without feeling overwhelming.

In a future iteration, I would like to add client testimonials and case studies to provide more social proof.
